Important rental and job-site reminders
Rental & Safety Information
Use this page to prepare for a rental. It highlights important limits and safety responsibilities but does not replace the confirmed agreement, equipment manual, required training, permit, utility markout, or site-specific instructions.
Requests are not confirmed reservations
Website pricing and availability help prepare a request. A submission does not guarantee an item, delivery time, placement, service scope, or final price. Kennedy & Sons confirms those details directly before the rental or service is scheduled.
Dumpster materials, loading, and weight
Ask before loading any material that is hazardous, regulated, unusually heavy, liquid, pressurized, or not listed as accepted. Never load asbestos or suspected asbestos-containing material. Materials that are generally accepted may still require separation, recycling, special handling, or rejection under disposal-facility rules and Massachusetts requirements.
Keep all material below the top wall and distribute weight safely. The scale weight and receiving facility determine final tonnage and acceptance. See the MassDEP waste-disposal-ban guidance, and call Kennedy & Sons before loading if there is any doubt.
Equipment use and operator requirements
Only a person who is legally permitted, properly trained, and able to operate the specific equipment safely may use it. Before use, inspect the equipment, review its operator manual and supplied instructions, wear appropriate protective equipment, and understand the controls, limits, and surroundings.
Licensing, qualification, or rental-company training may apply to some machinery. Do not operate equipment that appears damaged or unsafe; stop work and contact Kennedy & Sons.
Dig Safe, excavation, and permits
Massachusetts defines excavation broadly and includes activities such as grading and demolition. The person or company performing the excavation must comply with Dig Safe and permit requirements. For customer-operated work, contact Dig Safe by calling 811 at least 72 business hours before excavation, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, and do not begin before the authorized start time.
If Kennedy & Sons is separately hired to perform excavation, Kennedy & Sons handles the contractor obligations assigned to it. Learn more from the Commonwealth’s official Dig Safe guidance.
Site access, placement, and hidden conditions
Before delivery or work begins, provide accurate access instructions and identify soft ground, slopes, overhead clearance, pavement limits, septic systems, wells, sprinklers, utilities, property lines, and other known hazards. Obtain property-owner approval and any required local permit. Kennedy & Sons may postpone or refuse unsafe or inaccessible placement.
Photos, descriptions, and suitability
Website photos identify the general rental type and may not show every accessory, wear mark, or configuration. Dimensions and descriptions are planning information, not a substitute for confirming fit, capacity, access, or suitability for a particular task. Contact us before booking when exact dimensions or capabilities are critical.
Terms and customer rights
The acknowledged rental rules and our Terms and Conditions govern confirmed rentals. This information does not waive a warranty, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot legally be waived.
